Some fraudsters accept compromised TGP accounts take in the past few days. They have scammed members in the Emporiums by creating ads with stolen photos and requesting Paypal F&F or Venmo exclusively for payment.
We take these issues seriously. We've made security changes that I don't want to detail here to cease them. However, the best way to prevent this is for members to practise proper countersign hygiene (which I'll detail below), turn on two-factor authentication, and -- I implore every unmarried person here -- only use payment methods that have buyer protection. Unfortunately, we cannot control how members do deals. It is heartbreaking to come across that the lure of saving some money will still fool people into using those methods to relieve a few dollars. In today'south world, that is false confidence you tin no longer afford.
Every account that I've restored and so far to the original possessor was using compromised passwords. Talking to one member as I am working through getting his business relationship dorsum in order, he informed me that his Apple tree countersign managing director had been compromised and made bachelor on the dark spider web.
None of the accounts compromised were using two-factor authentication.
We have forced electronic mail revalidation for all members that have not signed on for a while. Nosotros highly recommend every fellow member reading this modify their passwords every bit a precaution. We desire to highly recommend that members turn on and use TGP's two-factor authentication option.
We have opened a discussion thread in the Pub section discussing this.We will include a very detailed countersign checklist.
